ST. PAUL CITY CONFERENCE: Adapted Softball Guidelines

  1. Adapted softball coaches meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2009, 7:15 p.m., at Maple Grove H.S.

  2. Opening date for practice will be Monday, March 2, 2009.

  3. All coaches are encouraged to join the St. Paul Coaches Association and the Minnesota State Softball Coaches Association.

  4. Except as modified by the MSHSL in its Rules Supplement, the National Federation Softball Rules will be used during the season.

  5. Two (2) umpires will be provided for each conference game in the Maroon Division (one umpire for Gold Division).

  6. One scorer will be hired by the St. Paul school for the varsity home games only. That scorer will be paid by the District Office.

  7. Coaches are to notify the school athletic director of game results the morning of the next school day for the weekly district report.

  8. Ground rules must be agreed upon with the umpires before the game begins.

  9. The home team will furnish the bases.

  10. If weather conditions, before 1:00 p.m., necessitate postponement of the game, the home team will notify all concerned.

  11. Postponed games will be rescheduled by the two schools involved on the first available date.

  12. Junior varsity games shall not start a new inning after 4:30 p.m.

  13. Pre-game game warm up is from 3:45-4:00 p.m. (earlier if gym is available).

  14. The M.A.A.A. conference championship shall be based on conference games only. A trophy will be awarded to the conference champion.

  15. The coach of the St. Paul team, regardless if home or away, will report the game results to the media to promote adapted softball. St. Paul coach should contact John Vosejpka by phone (767-3490), Fax (293-5374) or E-Mail (john.vosejpka@SPPS.org) with results for Web site posting.

  16. All-Conference selections will be made at the post-season meeting at Maple Grove H.S. (date to be determined).
