Guidelines

ST. PAUL CITY CONFERENCE: Cross-Country Guidelines

  1. Cross-country coaches meeting will be Thursday, August 14, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Como Park Sr. High School. All coaches, including any assistant coaches, must attend this meeting.

  2. Practice will begin on Monday, August 11, 2008.

  3. Meets will start at 3:30 p.m. for the girls, followed by the boys at approximately 4:10 p.m.

  4. The course will be 5000 meters long for boys and 4000 meters long for girls.

  5. Teams will come dressed. Dressing rooms and shower facilities are not available.

  6. Scoring will follow N.C.A.A. regulations. A Games Committee of three coaches shall be appointed prior to the first meet and they are from Arlington, Central and Como Park.

  7. All coaches are encouraged to join the St. Paul Coaches Association and the Minnesota State Coaches Association.

  8. The Conference championship will be determined by the conference meet. Schools may enter from one to nine individuals. The entry list with the names and grade level must be turned in to the Meet Supervisor at the last regular meet and e-mailed to Bill Niemczyk so a roster containing all the varsity entries can be made available for the conference meet. All conference medals will be awarded to the top 15 varsity places after the meet. The junior varsity runners finishing in the top 15 receive ribbons in the chute.

  9. The Meet Supervisor will call in the team scores and mail individual detailed results to each coach after every meet. He/She will also contact John Vosejpka (651-767-3490) with results for Web site posting.

  10. All-Conference Team selection -- the top 15 finishers, in both boys' and girls', at the Conference Meet are named to the All-Conference Team. All-Conference honorable mention named at the post-season meeting.

  11. Submit your Kevin Ales Award candidates to Bill Niemczyk by Tuesday, October 7, 2008.

  12. The post-season meeting for coaches will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Como Park Sr. High School at 2:45 p.m.



TWIN CITY GRADE-BY-GRADE

Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 4:00 p.m. at Como Park

Order of Events:

  1. 4:00 -- Eleventh and Twelfth grade girls -- 4000 meters.
  2. 4:30 -- Eleventh and Twelfth grade boys -- 5000 meters.
  3. 5:00 -- Seventh-Tenth grade girls -- 3200 meters.
  4. 5:25 -- Seventh-Tenth grade boys -- 3200 meters (tenth grade boys run 4000 meters).



ST. PAUL GRADE-BY-GRADE

Tuesday, September 23, 2008, 3:30 p.m. at Como Park

Order of Events:

  1. 3:30 -- Ninth and Tenth grade girls.
  2. 3:50 -- Eleventh and Twelfth grade girls.
  3. 4:10 -- Eleventh and Twelfth grade boys.
  4. 4:30 -- Ninth and Tenth grade boys.



CONFERENCE MEET

Tuesday, October 14, 2008, 3:30 p.m. at Como Park

Order of Events:

  1. 3:35 -- Varsity/Junior Varsity Girls with medals at the conclusion of the race.
  2. 4:00 -- Varsity Boys with medals after the junior varsity boys finish their race.
  3. 4:20 -- Junior Varsity Boys with medals distributed in the chute at conclusion of race.
