ST. PAUL CITY CONFERENCE: Junior High Girls' Badminton Guidelines

  1. The badminton coaches coaches will meet on Monday, March 16, 2009, 4:00 p.m., at 360 Colborne, fifth floor cafeteria.

  2. Practice for badminton begins Monday, March 23, 2009.

  3. All matches are scheduled to begin 20 minutes after the visiting team arrives, shall be played simultaneously.

  4. All contests will be governed by NAGWS Badminton Rules. Coaching during a match is covered in the current rulebook. Please know the rule and follow it.

  5. Ten (10) players will be used in each match. A contest will consist of four (4) singles and three (3) doubles. A contestant competing in a singles match may not compete in doubles.

  6. The winner of each match shall score one (l) point. A match shall consist of the best out of three games.

  7. Teams will declare players in position and the number one player will play the number one player; the number two player will play the number two player, etc. The number one doubles team will play the number one doubles team, etc. Coaches will have the lineup in written form on arrival at the match.

  8. Each host coach is responsible for providing one dozen new shuttlecocks for each match.

  9. The host coach will have the responsibility for designating the area or areas for all spectators, including players not presently competing.

JUNIOR HIGH BADMINTON SINGLES AND DOUBLES TOURNAMENT

DATE: Tuesday-Wednesday, May 19-20, 2009
TIME: 4:00 p.m.
PLACE: TBA

Format:

  1. Each school may enter four (4) singles and three (3) doubles teams.
  2. A student may not enter both singles and doubles tournaments.
  3. Names will be randomly drawn. The tournament format will be single elimination.
  4. No more than ten minutes will be allowed between matches and one minute between games.
  5. Each team will bring a dozen birdies.
  6. Medals will be awarded to the top four places.
